JacobRolf Jacob Sartorius, a boy who was born in Oklahoma was raised in Tulsa. His parents were unable care for him immediately after the birth, so he was taken in by an adoptive family and moved to Virginia. The family was raised in Reston, Virginia by his adoptive parents . By the age of seven, began to perform in musicals. It was there that was he discovered his passion of performing. Vine was an American streaming service which offered short-form videos. In 2017, Sartorius' lip-syncing videos were seen by more than 8 million users. A victim of bullying, he believed social media offered him an opportunity to get away. It was said that before Musical.ly, he wasn't the most social. He believed that nobody watched him other than the camera.
